Through The Pink Lens

Our Families Journey Through Breast Cancer.

No Chemo = 🙂

These last two weeks without treatment have been good.

Kylie gets her energy back slowly then boom, you know when she has it.

Kiki and her grandgirls!

She wakes up, makes breakfast, does dishes, makes bread, cleans, and does tons of planning. It shocks me sometimes. Who is this person? This is how she is though. She’s a go-getter, and gets stuff done. And I love her for that and I love her when she is laying in bed, in a dark room, listening to some audiobook with her eyes closed or sleeping through recovery.

Kristi was here for the first part of the week and Bradford and Megan came after that to spend some time with us.

Kylie and I went to a homeschool convention. We were talking about how we wish we could pull Emmie from school right now, but we gave her the choice for this year and she wants to finish. We are so excited for next year though.

We are so blessed to have so many people helping us out.

Brad and Kristi helped us out so much while they were here.

We went Tulip Picking for the first time!

Bradford, Megan and Jocelyn came to visit with us for a week and helped us out a lot. Jocelyn especially helped me clean the floors finding the tiniest things to test if they are edible. I’m sure she had Tommy’s safety in mind.

While the family was in town we went to a Butterfly Garden (didn’t see any butterflies but had a great time outdoors). We tried a new restaurant, Wades. If you ever come to visit we can take you there. We went to a cool Museum that had dinosaurs and lots of taxidermy animals and a really cool nature trail.

It was so good to be able to go out and do these things. Kylie hiked up steep hills and walked around for hours without feeling out of breath.

Kylie and I are working on ways to improve our relationship. Some goals we have are to do a weekly date and spend some time together every day. On the days and weeks she is unable to go somewhere for a date, we will do something at home. On the days she is unable to do anything I’ll just lay beside her in bed in a dark room.

Spending some time together daily will be nice and helpful for us. We used to be pretty good at date nights each week, but they started to get away from us when Willie began to have fainting spells.

Kylie has treatment on Tuesday. She only has 2 treatments left!!! Her aunt and cousin will be coming to stay with us and help us out. It is a big blessing that people are taking time off work and time out of their busy lives to come help us. We have felt God’s love through everyone serving us so freely.
